As the Undergraduate Program Director for physics, Jerry Feldman deals with issues related to the department’s undergraduate curriculum, recruiting of new physics majors, and advising of the present group of physics majors. He also serves as the faculty advisor to the GW chapter of the Society of Physics Students. Dr. Feldman’s research is in the area of experimental nuclear physics, specifically photonuclear reactions at intermediate energies. His recent work has been focusing on Compton scattering and photodisintegration of light nuclei at the High Intensity Gamma Source at Duke University in Durham, NC and also at MAX-Lab at Lund University in Lund, Sweden. He is also involved in ongoing projects at Jefferson Lab in Newport News, VA and I have previously performed experiments at the Saskatchewan Accelerator Laboratory in Saskatoon, Canada.

Dr. Feldman received 2001 District of Columbia CASE Professor of the Year Award.
